The MG T-Series was introduced as early as 1936, when it replaced the MG P-Series. The T-Series was a sports car designed for a separate body, manufactured until 1955, when it was replaced by the MGA. The MG T-Series was popular with both among the royal family and motorsports, as well as the sports car of ordinary people in Europe and the United States.

MG TA Midget was followed by TB, TC and in 1950 TD. Although the appearance of the TD remained very similar to that at the beginning of the T-Series before World War II, the car was significantly more modern than the first T-Series cars. The car already had a 12-volt electrical system and a 1250-cubic XPAG engine with overhead valves and with a hydraulic timing chain tensioner. The fuel was regulated by two SU carburetors.

Perhaps the most significant improvement was the chassis structure borrowed from MG’s Y saloon car model, which enabled independent suspension with double wishbones and coilsprings for the front axle. The TD also featured a hypoid differential, a new four-speed transmission and rack-and-pinion steering.

This particular car was brought to Finland by Grips Garage in 2016 from Texas. Restoration of the car had begun and its interior and roof had been renewed and the engine refurbished already in the United States. In Finland, the car was dismantled and the body, which was remained in very good condition, was painted in the original Woodland Green shade.

The body was finished with new tires, wheels, moldings, handles and new chrome bumpers. The fuel tank and fuel pump were replaced. The wear parts of the car’s steering, suspension and brakes were replaced. The car is fitted with CSI’s electric ignition and the car’s electrical wiring harness and starter have been renewed.

The car was inspected and registered as a historic vehicle when the restoration was completed in 2018.

The car is gorgeous and will be sold with fresh Mot/Tüv inspection done and ready to enjoy.

The car is located in Vantaa, 30 minutes from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Presentations by agreement. Worldwide shipping with generous rates.
