The Land Rover 90 was introduced in 1984 as a successor for short wheelbase Series III. The permanent four-wheel drive with a low gear and a central differential lock, as well as the coil suspension with rigid axles, were already a proven solution in the Range Rover, which was now finally brought to the Land Rover. The peak model of the short-wheelbase versions of the Land Rover model range was the 90 V8 that offered equipment suitable for the demands of the counts and the Rover V8 engine.

This 90 V8 was sold as new to Holland, from where it was later exported to Sweden. The car was imported to Finland in the 1990s as a hunting car. The car was only registered in Finland in connection with a restoration in 2025. The Land Rover has been treated with dignity over the years and has remained in very good and extraordinary original condition. The chassis and body are both in good original condition. The County brown fabric interior is also original.

Between 2025 and 2026, the car was restored with respect to its originality:

The body was painted in the original Stratos Blue shade. The chassis was cleaned and rear crossmember repainted.

The engine was removed, disassembled and restored: All the bearings were renewed, cylinder heads were machined, piston rings were renewed, camshaft, lifters and water pump were renewed. Water hoses, viscous fan and radiator were renewed. New electric ignition was installed. Carburettors were cleaned, rebuilt with new seals and adjusted. Fuel tank, fuel hoses and fuel pump were renewed.

Clutch was renewed, including slave and master cylinders. Flywheel was renewed.
Brakes were completely renewed including brake calipers, handbrake shoes, new discs, pads and brake and pipes.

New exhaust manifold and exhaust system were installed. Alternator, starter and auxiliary pulleys renewed.

New springs and shock absorbers installed. Steering gear disassembled and refurbished with new seals. Swivel balls and tie rod ends renewed. Propshaft was balanced. Original Michelin XYZ tires installed on refurbished original steel wheels.

Windshield, front door hinges, front bumper and headlight and turn signal units have been renewed.

The car is in great condition and starts, runs and drives excellently. The refined burble and power of the V8 makes traveling in an original Land Rover exceptionally sophisticated and unique. The interior has been kept original and offers opportunities for finishing or tailoring.
