The XJ40 series Jaguar was designed carfully. Design began in the 1970s and the car was finally launched in 1986. The engine of Jaguar Saloon was a AJ6 inline-six and 12-cylinder V-model engines soon became an option. The XJ40 was a 22-year success story in the history of the royal cat saloon.

This aristocat was first registered in March 1990 and imported to Finland in 1992. The first Finnish owner kept the car until 1997 and the next long-term owner through couple of shorter ownerships, from 2004 to 2018. The car was storaged unused from 2008 to 2022, which is why the mileage has remained moderate. In the early 2020s, the car was refurbished and registered as a historic vehicle. The car’s original instruction manuals and service book are preserved in a Jaguar vinyl folder.

The Jaguar has been kept with dignity and the body is in good condition. The car was rust-proofed at an early stage. The car has recently been repainted in Jaguar’s original Solent Blue metallic color – paint is not concours class, though. The grey leather interior is in very good condition and You enjoy to step and stay inside of the car.

Jaguar’s equipment, such as the electric sunroof, cruise control, radio and and digital instrument cluster, work properly. The refined power of the inline six engine is preserved and feels perky, and the four-speed ZF automatic transmission shifts as it should.

The car has recently been fitted with studded winter tires for the restored Jaguar alloy wheels. Another set of tires and alloy wheels for the summer are included.

The car has just had an oil change service at Grips Garage in 12/2025 / 222,000 km. The instrument cluster was replaced in the fall of 2025, the kilometers of the change are recorded in the service book. Also rear brake pads were renewed and the driver’s floor restored.
