Introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 1955, the MGA was a revolutionary British roadster sportscar. The MGA, which replaced MG’s T-series, had a low, sleek and beautiful body and the car was produced between 1955 and 1962. Together, more than 100,000 cars were built in Abingdon, New South Wales, England, and Australia. Most of the cars were sold to the United States and Europe outside Great Britain. The car was successful on both the Le Mans and Nascar racetracks, and its driving characteristics garnered praise from ordinary consumers and world stars. The MG MGA became a classic whose role in the birth of the British roadster sports car concept cannot be underestimated.

This first generation MGA was imported to Finland in the late 1980s. The first Finnish owner owned the car until 2006 and the next owner for 18 years until spring 2024.

In Finland the body of the car was restored and painted in MG’s original Orient Red shade. The interior, including the door trim and seats, was renewed in autumn 2024 to match the original with black leather.

The car has been comprehensively serviced and a lot of renewed during 2024 and 2025:

The engine oils and filter have been changed and the carburetor serviced and adjusted. The starter motor has been renewed. New tires have been installed on the car for new Minilite-style wheels. Original steel wheels also available.

The brakes have been overhauled: Brake cylinders, shoes and hoses have been renewed.

The car’s engine runs perfect and MGA drives excellently.  The gearbox works precisely and flawlessly.

Black vinyl roof in good condition. Removable side windows.

Registered as a Historic vehicle. Inspected 11/2024, valid until 11/2028.
