Mr. M. Vastinesluoma bought this Land Rover Series III as new in May of 1981. The car spent its first three years in Nokia, Finland and then Mr. U. Sorsakivi from Kiikala, Finland bought it. Mr. Sorsakivi used it 14 years and kept escpecially good care of the Land Rover and serviced it annually until 1995 when he storaged it in his garage. The car was driven only 89 000 km’s. The car was storaged in his garage 23 years from 1995 to 2018, when he decided to sell it.
Over the years, a fair amount of car documents and the original manual in good condition have been preserved.
During the last five years, the car has been comprehensively technically restored. The car’s original engine has been overhauled with a new diesel pump and injectors as well as an injector pump. The car’s brakes, suspension and exhaust system have been renewed. Last service done in summer of 2022, when the engine- and gearbox oils were renewed.
During the 23 years of standing, the mice had gnawed on the car’s front seats and the seats were replaced. The headlining was also renewed. The rear seats are still completely original.
The car body and chassis appear to be completely unwelded. The body and frame are in incredibly stunning, original condition. Even the rust-free bulkhead is in perfectly original condition, as is the rear crossmember of the chassis.
The paintwork of the car is still mostly factory original, only some of the body panels have been painted in time due to small bumps.
As a whole, the car is in amazingly stunning original condition and perhaps in the finest original condition we have ever seen. The car is really fun and easy to drive. The engine works perfectly and is really perky. The steering and transmission are really precise and backlash-free. Thanks to the overdrive, the car can drive at speeds of up to over a hundred kilometers per hour.
Fitted with the correct 7.50 Michelin tires and Limestone colored Series wheels, tires renewed since pictures taken.
The car’s original Safari roof easily comes off, making the car a seven-seater convertible!
The opportunity to also acquire a Bond car as an investment! James Bond film, No Time to Die, the agent saves the world at the wheel of a Marine Blue Land Rover Series III.
