Introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 1955, the MGA was a revolutionary British roadster sportscar. The MGA, which replaced MG’s T-series, had a low, sleek and beautiful body and the car was produced between 1955 and 1962. Together, more than 100,000 cars were built in Abingdon, New South Wales, England, and Australia. Most of the cars were sold to the United States and Europe outside Great Britain. The car was successful on both the Le Mans and Nascar racetracks, and its driving characteristics garnered praise from ordinary consumers and world stars. The MG MGA became a classic whose role in the birth of the British roadster sports car concept cannot be underestimated.

This MGA E-Roadster is a fully restored and rebuilt true classic with modern electric car technology. The car is built from a 1959 MGA Roadster.

The car’s original body and frame have been restored and modified for electric car technology. The suspension and brakes of the car have been updated to modern ones. Coilover shock absorbers are adjustable and the chassis is really comfortable and still sporty to drive. The car has modern disc brakes both front and rear.

The body and frame of the car have been restored, and the interior, chassis- and suspension solutions and brakes have been built to a very high standard by Grips Garage, which specializes in the restoration and service of British classic cars.

The EV-technology is designed by Retro-EV, which specializes in classic car electric conversions. The car’s 105-kilowatt electric motor is placed in the engine compartment, and the modular batteries are placed in bottom of the car’s chassis and body. The low center of gravity allows the car to maintain its sporty driving characteristics. The total onboard capacity of liquid-cooled batteries is 21,2 kWh. The car supports 2 types of recharging: Fast DC (CHAdeMO) Charge in about 30 minutes (20-80% SOC) and Convenience T2-AC (230v) Charge in about 7 hrs (empty to full).
