Austin Mini MKI Automatic ‘1967

Chassis number. A-A2S7L-1063344A
848 cc with original 4-speed automatic gearbox
Red with red interior
Original, unrestored condition
3 private owners since new
Only 47 000 km’s
Registered as a historic vehicle, Mot/Tüv inspection valid until 06/2025.
– Sold to München, Germany –

The original Mini was designed by Alec Issigonis to answer for the need of small and economic cars. In late 50’s there was shortage of a fuel caused by Suez Crisis and the small German Bubble cars were popular in UK, even where imported cars were still a rarity. The headstrong and autocratic head of the British Motor Company, Leonard Lord, did not like the situation and wanted to offer the rival for the small German-made Bubble cars. He decided that BMC would design and produce a decent, really small family car. In 1959 Mini was introduced.

In October 1965 Mini introduced first time the automatic transmission. BMC promoted the “Mini-Matic” as the first such a small car equipped with an automatic transmission. It was designed by Automotive Products and had already four speed. With the automatic, it was still possible to change gears manually or just to put the lever into the bottom of the gate when the car changes itself. BMC called it “his or hers system” – its purpose was to offer easy driving both for men and women drivers.

This is an original MKI Austin Mini Automatic. Since 1967, the car has been driven only 47 000 km’s! According to the current owner and inheritance information, the car have had only 3 private owners and the current owner is the third one who bought the car from Mini enthusiast in 2014.

Car is in great and very original, unrestored condition. Paint is still a partly original and interior is totally original. Engine runs smooth and gearbox works perfectly and everything is in very good and healthy working order: Lights, heater, engine. Front brakes have been fully renewed recently and the engine and gearbox have been serviced.

Our entire family’s enthusiasm for British cars has its roots, especially with Mini. My great uncle Antti once worked as a mechanic for Rally Legend Timo Mäkinen and also competed on gravel and track himself. When Timo Mäkinen drove Finland’s first Monte Carlo victories with the Mini, everyone had to get their own Mini, respecting the example. Literally everyone in our family had a Mini at some point.

An exceptionally small but exceptionally big car. Few cars have such a wonderful history in both everyday life and motorsports. A great opportunity to have an extraordinary original condition and such a rare automatic Mini MKI!

Led by Sir William Lyons, a revolutionary car was born in Coventry, UK in the late 1950s: the Jaguar MKII. The car was advanced, with a unibody and disc brakes. Particular attention had been paid to the car’s silence, vibration damping and a comfortable but sporty suspension. As the Jaguars motto, launched first time with MKII said: “Grace, Space, Pace”.

The end result was a luxurious and sporty large mid-size sedan. A representative car the kind of bank robbers stole as an escape car. And a capable four-door sport saloon that succeeded also as a racing car the kind that German competitors like BMW and Mercedes could only dream of at the time.

This 1961’ British Racing Green MKII was brought to Finland from the United States in the early 1990s. The car was brought to Finland by Nostalgia Classics, which once specialized in classics in Ostrobothnia, Finland. From the mid-1990s to 2010, the car was owned by the family run car dealership Auto-Jalonen. The next owner, J. Holopainen, enjoyed and took care of the Jaguar until 2018, when the car was transferred to Grips Garage ownership and for sale. Grips Garage’s Åvall sold the car to his godfather K. Toikkanen, who still owns the car.

The car has been restored and serviced in repair shops specializing in Jaguars over the years, and it is in good condition both in terms of bodywork and technology. During the years 2015–2016, the both intake and exhaust valves of the car’s engine have been renewed. Carburetors have been serviced and adjusted in connection with thorough maintenance in 2020, and the fuel pump has been renewed in the fall of 2021.

The car body looks good also underneath and the British Racing Green paintwork has aged beautifully. The aristocratic style is completed by wire wheels and new white-sided tires.

The light leather upholstery in the interior is in good condition, and the mats and roof upholstery have recently been renewed.

The car’s original 3.4 liter straight engine purrs softly. The automatic transmission works conscientiously and the car is festive to drive.

The car is registered as a museum vehicle and the next inspection is in July 2024. This Jag is a really nice specimen ready to be enjoyed.

The Austin-Healey car brand was born in 1952 as a result of the collaboration between BMC and Donald Healey. In the same year, the British Motor Company was also born as a result of the merger of Austin and Morris. Austin and Donald Healey wanted to offer a sports car specifically for the North American market. Donald Healey had won the Monte Carlo Rally with Invicta in 1931 and made a name for himself as a designer of Triumph and Riley sports cars. After the Second World War, he had established his own car factory, where cars were produced for Tickford and Duncan, for example. The conditions for designing a successful sports car were there.

In 1952, the first sports car designed by Austin and Healey was presented at the London Motor Show. Donald Healey’s son Geoffrey Healey and Barrie Bilbie were especially responsible for the the new sports car. Gerry Coker helped with the design. The engine was an Austin straight four with two carburetors that pushed the sports car to a top speed of 100 mph. The car was initially named Healey Hundred, which was soon updated to Austin-Healey 100. After its release, the car was constantly developed and its power readings and driving characteristics improved.

In 1956, Austin-Healey received a new, six-cylinder, 2600cc engine. The body of the car grew in length and the look of the front changed with a smaller grille. The name of the model became 100–6.

The Austin-Healey 3000 was introduced in 1959. The name of the model came from the increased displacement of the engine. The car was an immediate success and Pat Moss won the Liege-Rome-Liege rally with the car in 1960. In 1964, Finns Rauno Aaltonen and Tony Ambrose won the 1961 Austin Healey in the Spa-Sofia-Liege rally of more than 5,500 kilometers, 90 hours continuous, with a superior , more than half an hour ahead of Swedish Erik Carlsson. Austin–Healey’s role in motorsport history is still undeniable.

The Austin-Healey 3000 MKII was introduced in 1961 and the BJ7 Sports convertible model on sale in 1962. The sports car’s innovations included e.g. winding windows and small side windows of the windshield.

This car was manufactured on April 8-9, 1963 and sold new by the Austin–Healey dealer in Royston (Georgia, USA). In 2013, the “Big Healey” was bought in Finland in project condition from the USA by Grips Garage, which specializes in repairing and restoring British classic cars. The car was bought in project condition by V. Okkonen, who wanted Grips Garage to do a complete restoration for the car.

At Grips Garage, the car was taken apart and completely restored. The Austin-Healey body was stripped to bare metal and restored. The chassis subframe was renewed. The car is a complete Matching Numbers and its original engine and transmission were disassembled, machined and rebuilt with new parts. The car’s brakes, wearing parts of the chassis and the suspension as a whole were renewed with new original parts. The body’s chrome was completely renewed, only the windshield frame, which has remained in good condition, is original.

The interior was completely rebuilt, with the shades and shapes of the original red upholstery. The body of the car was finished in the original black/red tone and new chrome wire wheels were installed, just as this particular car had when it left the factory.

The car has been driven about 5,000 kilometers since the restoration and the owner has kept a driving log. The car is really impressive as a whole, the restoration is top class and the car can withstand close inspection.

The engine runs and the transmission works perfectly and the car is simply great and really pleasure to drive without any flaws. Austin-Healey will be sold with recently serviced and ready to drive.

Registered as a museum vehicle, inspection valid 07/2024.

The 1960s and 1970s were undeniably the golden age of Gran Turismo supercars. At the end of the 1960s, two cars in particular fought for the title of the finest Gran Turismo, produced by royal craftsmanship: the Aston Martin DBS V8 and the Jensen Interceptor.

Aston Martin had been making a name for itself in motorsport ever since the Le Mans races of the early 1930s. It was also known from the movies as a stylish tool of a secret agent. That’s why it was almost unfathomable that the little Jensen from West Bromwich was able to realize a luxurious Gran Turismo supercar that was compared with Aston side by side in the car magazines. But no excuse at all. Also, Jensen did not doubt to use that in the marketing of the Interceptor, they took also advantage of famous customers who wanted an expensive and exclusive GT Supercar: Princess Anne, Donna Summer, Dusty Springfield, Tony Curtis, Henry Cooper, Cliff Richard…

In 1922, the Jensen brothers Allan and Richard Jensen began designing and manufacturing bodies for sports cars and utility vehicles. Before the Second World War, Jensen had designed no fewer than 65 different sports cars, several of which were powered by Ford’s V8. In 1962, Jensen introduced the C-V8 Gran Turismo sports car, one of the fastest four-seaters of its time.

In 1966, Jensen introduced the Gran Turismo supercar, designed by Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera. The car received one of the finest model names in car history, which Jensen had already used once before in the 1950s: Interceptor. Touring was known as the designer of Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Maseratis. It had also designed the DB4, DB5 and DB6 under Aston Martin’s license and knew what a sleek and fast GT car should be like. The stunning design of the Interceptor was made possible by a unified steel body, which was designed on a separate chassis tube frame. The first Interceptor bodies were manufactured in Italy by the body factory Vignale, but soon Jensen began to manufacture the Interceptor bodies inhouse.

Jensen Motors chose to power the Interceptor with a 6.3 liter Chrysler 383 cu V8 engine. Power readings were an impressive 325 horsepower, transmitted to the road via a rigid rear axle with a differential lock and a Torqueflite automatic transmission, or a four-speed manual transmission. “While Aston owners revved their race-bred straight sixes and crunched gears, Jensen man could surge away from any situation at the twitch of a toe with this Black-Country supercar, surging past 100 mp/h in the time it took the light in Montecristo ”, wrote CL Magazine about Jensen on November 29, 2001.

The Interceptor was a success and was produced in three model series and ten years from 1966 to 1976, a total of 7,141 units, including the four-wheel drive FF, open body models and the SP special model. The rarest of the three model series MKI–MKIII, is the MKI, of which only 1,024 were produced.

This 1967 Interceptor MKI was brought to Finland by Suomen Sijoitusautot in 1993 from England. The car had remained in good original condition, but it was still decided to restore it thoroughly. The car was bought on September 24, 1996 by K. Koskinen, director of the Koskinen wood product industry company. The restoration of the car had started in time and was continued during Koskinen’s ownership.

During the years 1994-1998, the car was thoroughly restored by professionals. The body of the car was restored and painted in Jensen’s burgundy metallic shade. The car’s engine was machined and rebuilt with all new parts. The gearbox and rear axle were disassembled and restored. The exhaust manifolds, exhaust pipe system, brakes, auxiliary equipment and wearing parts of the steering were renewed. Electrical equipment, such as electric windows and the radio, were renovated.

Jensen came to us from K. Koskinen’s estate in the spring of 2022. After the restoration, the car had been driven about 5,000 kilometers. The car had been stored in a warm garage and its body was still in very good condition, but the front floors had minor rust damage. The floors were renewed according to the original dimensions. The small defects of the body were restored and painted. The car’s engine and gearbox were serviced and adjusted, and the ignition parts and waterpump were renewed.

The car’s V8 engine runs really smoothly and it really has a plenty of power and torque. The gearbox works very smoothly and nimbly. All the electrical devices in the car work as they should.

The car’s beige leather upholstery with burgundy seeter stitching is in great condition. The headliner and small details such as knobs, handles and the original wooden steering wheel are also in great condition.

A very rare Gran Turismo supercar and an exceptionally fine specimen. Previous owner K.Koskinen was a real Jensen fan and the car has not only restoration, maintenance and repair documents, but also Jensen-related magazine articles from different decades.

Fresh Mot/Tüv inspection valid until 07/2024.

Under the leadership of Sixten Sason, Saab started a project called Gudmund in 1965.

In 1967, the completely new Saab 99 was introduced. The body of the Saab was wide and low two-door saloon, which was later supplemented with a hatchback Combi coupé in 1974 and a five-door saloon in 1976.

From the 92 model to the 96 model, Saab had preferred two-stroke engines in its cars until the mid-1960s. However, it was decided to equip the new model with a four-stroke power source, which Saab acquired from Triumph. The Slant-4 engine was 87 horsepower and in the first Saab 99 models it was 1.7-liter. The modern equipment was electric fan, as well as disc brakes and rack and pinion steering.

This light brown original Saab 99 was bought by baker E. Vuorinen from Vanhalinna on May 25, 1971. Triumph had just upgraded the Saab’s powerplant to an 1850cc engine. Vuorinen sold the car after four years on April 4, 1975 to O. Pesanno in Lieto, who kept the car for more than 20 years until February 27, 1996.

The car still remained in Varsinais-Suomi and it was transferred to Jari Hoikkala in Turku. The next owner was T. Nironen from Littoinen, Turku region, who kept the car for only one year. On August 24, 1999, Saab was sold to North Karelia, for mr. J. Kerminen and the following year 2000 to E. Riikonen.

Riikonen restored the car thoroughly and the car was registered as a museum on September 25, 2000. There are plenty of documents about the restoration. Riikonen kept the car until 2022, when car enthusiasts M. Kakko and E. Riikonen exchanged Saabs with each other. Saab 99 came back to Varsinais-Suomi region, where it was spent its earlier years.

The car has been preserved in a really great condition and it runs, drives and functions absolutely great. The body is in good condition and the paint surface already has a patina.

The Saab was inspected in July 2022 and the historic vehicle Mot/Tüv inspection is valid until summer 2026.

A great Saab ready to be enjoyed.

The car is located in Salo, Finland. One and half hour drive from Helsinki-Vantaa airport. Views by agreement.

In March 1961, Jaguar presented a sports car at the Geneva Motor Show, which changed the automotive world forever. The new E-Type (XK-E in the US) was based on the Jaguar D-Type racing car that had won Le Mans three years consecutively from 1955 to 1957. The advanced sports car grand tourer was built on a monocoque body and an engine subframe, thanks to which it only weighed a little over 1300 kilograms. The modern sports car was equipped with disc brakes and independent front and rear suspension. Designed for street use, the Jaguar E-type was the successor to the Jaguar XK 150, whose racing car version, the C-Type, was also succeed at Le Mans.

The car became an immediate success and the annual production was filled with order books in no time. Enzo Ferrari titled the E-Type the most beautiful car in the world and the car was produced for three model series until 1974.

The E-Type Series 3 was introduced in 1971. Both the body and the engine were totally new. The short wheelbase Fixed Head Coupe was dropped and the E-Type was now available only as a Open Two Seater and 2+2 Coupe. The S3 E-Type is identified from the other E-Types with the large cross-slatted front grille, extended wheelarches and wheels with low-profile tyres. Even when new body was bigger to almost every directions, the car weight was only 39 kg’s more than six-cylinder engine E-Types.

Third series E-type was equipped with uprated brakes and the power steering was now a standard equipment. An automatic transmission, air conditioning and wire wheels were available as a new options.

The third Series E-Type was delivered with smoothness and sophistication with new 5.3 litre Jaguar V12 with four Zenith carburettors that was often chosen together with automatic transmission. More than road racer, the E-Type was now luxury grand tourer that was available to do the 0-60 mph with less than seven seconds.

However, the V12 was both very thirsty and also demanding and challenging engine to maintain and keep on road. This car is equipped with 5.0 litre “Windsor” 302 V8 and automatic transmission. The V8 burble suits perfectly to the luxury grand tourer and the car is very easy and effortless to drive and it works simply great. V8 runs smooth and the automatic gearbox changes correctly.

The Dark Blue E-Type S3 2+2 coupe was imported to Finland in 2011 and the history since then is well known and available. The car is in presentative condition both inside and outside. Small patina and marks of use as the car has been enjoyed and driven every summer.

Very unique and totally ready to drive E-type with fresh Mot/Tüv inspection valid until 2024.

The car is located in Salo, Finland. About one hour drive from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.

However, only 15,422 cars of the first series Fixed Head Coupes were produced between 1961 and 1968.

This 1-series Jaguar E-Type Fixed-head coupé was manufactured on February 12, 1963. Two weeks later, the car was delivered to the official Jaguar dealer in New York and sold to its first owner, W.Carool. The first owner kept the car until 1967, when the car was bought by John Pitts from Los Angeles. The many of registration papers and some receipts as well as other documents have remained since the 1960s. According to the documents, the second owner, John Pitts, kept the car until at least 1977.

The E-Type was brought from California to Finland by Tom Kormas of the Nostalgia Classics in 1989. The car was in project condition and was bought by Orvo Grönroos from Karjaa on August 4, 1989. Grönroos was a Sisu-Auto mechanic by profession and he started to restore the Jaguar. The car was completely dismantled to the parts and the body was thoroughly restored, from the beginning to the metal surface. All the pieces, joints and suspension parts of the E-Type chassis were renewed.

The original 1964 model year 4.2 liter Jaguar E-Type engine that came with the car was restored with completely new parts, as was the four-speed manual transmission.

The car was kept in a warm garage at Grönroos and its restoration continued until the 2010s, when the owner gave up the unfinished car due to Mr. Grönroos high age. Finnish Triangle Motor Company bought a car that was almost ready, but needed finishing. The car was finally registered in 2018, when S. Tikkanen from Raasepori, Finland bought the car.

During Tikkanen, the restoration of the car was finally completed. The interior was upholstered by E. Skutknabb in original shapes and with burgundy leather. The roof upholstery was also completely renewed. Carpets and other upholstery materials were ordered from John Skinner. An important detail of the first three years of the E-Type, the original aluminum dashboard is still in excellent condition.

The car has practically only been driven in the 26 years between 1963 and 1989. There is a significant amount of original documentation about the car’s history and the car has Jaguar’s COA. The restoration is also well documented.

In recent years, the car has been enjoyed occasionally. The car has been restored to a high standard and is in stunning condition both inside and outside.

The car’s gearbox is accurate and the synchros are like new. The engine purrs smoothly and the car is effortless and great to drive.

The car will be sold freshly serviced and ready to enjoy.

In the early 1970s, Rover began developing a successor to the receding P6. The intention was to create a luxury, the brand’s first 5-door family car. Together with Triumph, Rover established a Specialist Division. The first of the cars was named Specialist Division nr. 1 or SD1.

SD1 was redesigned from the beginning. Rover’s product development department took inspiration from Pininfarina, not least the Ferrari 365 GTB / 4, more commonly known as the Daytona. Triumph’s Coventry department was responsible for the design of the suspension and chassis. The SD1 was introduced with Rover’s V8 engine. Production of the car began at a new factory in Solihull, and the first cars were delivered to customers in the summer of 1976. In 1977, SD1 was chosen Car of the Year in Europe.

In 1977, the SD1 model series was completed with , 2.3- and 2.6-liter SOHC inline six engines manufactured by Triumph. The 2600’s cubic capacity had been increased with a longer 84 mm stroke and its performance was almost as impressive as the V8-equipped 3500’s. The inline six engined 2600 was also giving very smooth ride and it was still quite economical for a large hatchback. Eventually, inline six engined cars became really important to British Leyland. They filled the gap between the Princess 2200 and the Rover 3500.

This particular car was bought in year 2000 by Lauri Linnavuori from Karaasi, a family run company specializing in British cars over 40 years. Linnavuori restored the body of the car and the car was painted in the original Cashmere Gold shade. The engine and gearbox were taken from a low mileage Rover 2600 that was a few years newer. Instead of the original Borg Warner automatic, this car has the better GM automatic transmission, which was used in the Rover 2600 from 1982 onwards.

The interior of the car is still in wonderful original condition. The door trims have been renovated and the driver’s floor mat has been renewed. Steering wheel has been replaced with a period correct wooden one.

In 2022, the car has been comprehensively refurbished and serviced: The engine has been serviced and the timing belt and plugs have been renewed. The transmission has been serviced with a complete service kit including all new seals.

The car is really comfortable and gentlemanly to drive, and it entices you to enjoy winding and scenic roads. There is enough power and speed even for larger highways.

A great classic with a super reasonable investment.

The car is located in Espoo. Presentations by agreement.

Exchange and financing option.
