In 1951, the Jaguar factory had moved to Browns Lane in Coventry, which enabled higher production volumes than before. At that time, the manufacturer, which mainly focused on big luxurious cars such as the MKVII and sports cars such as the XK120, wanted to design an efficient and sporty saloon-style car for the upper middle class.

In 1955, Jaguar introduced something completely new: the Jaguar MKI. The car was progressive, it had unitary construction body for the first time in the brand’s history. The engine was a 2.4-liter XK engine, six cylinders in a row, fueled by two SU carburetors. In terms of suspension and drivability, the car was a familiar Jaguar: a precise balance between comfort and sportiness.

The end result was successful, and the car received an update in 1957: The engine’s displacement increased to 3.4 liters and the increased reserves of speed were now restrained by disc brakes. Even Sir Stirling Moss deservedly competed with MKI on the racetracks.

This 1959 Tudor White Jaguar MK I was brought to Finland from the United States in 1989. The current owner of the car, J. Pietarila, bought the car directly from the previous owner, Mrs. B. Sermeta, from the United States and brought the Jaguar to Finland. Jaguar was first registered in Finland on July 11, 1989.

The car was kept in very good condition, the interior and body were largely in their original condition when the car arrived in Finland. The current owner, a watchmaker by profession, appreciates precision and wanted to thoroughly restore the car while respecting the originality.

In 2003, the engine, electrics, brakes, exhaust system, transmission, clutch and other technology of the car were disassembled to parts and thoroughly restored at Triangle Motors, which specializes in British classic cars.

In 2016, it was the turn of the car’s body: the car was completely disassembled and the body was painted all over in the original Jaguar Tudor White shade, including all the body panels and the body shell itself. The car’s all surfaces are really neat and wonderful and the restoration has been carried out to a high standard.

The original chrome parts of the car’s body were restored and re-chromed. The seals of the body, windows, chrome parts and light bulbs, and the covers of the indicators and taillights were renewed.

The wooden parts of the car’s interior were restored by a carpenter. The seats are in their beautifully patinated original upholstery. The small details of the interior, such as the interior lights and radio, were restored and the roof lining was renewed.

The restoration of the car has been done to a very high standard and the end result is a Concours-class MKI whose charisma is complemented by the original black leather upholstery. The restoration is carefully documented, with restoration receipts and pictures.

The original tools are stored in the trunk of the car and the original owner’s manual is preserved.

Jaguar withstands close view from all directions, including from underneath. The aristocratic style is completed by new chrome wire wheels with white sidewall tires.

The car has been serviced at British Classic cars specialized Grips Garage in the spring of 2022, when the car has also had a renewed fuel pump, CSI electronic ignition and spark plugs with wires. The car’s original 3.4 liter straight six engine purrs smoothly and the transmission works precisely.

The car is registered as a museum vehicle, inspected in spring 2022 and the next inspection is in May 2026. A really superb specimen ready to be enjoyed.

The car is located in Tampere, 2 hours from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.

MGB, introduced in 1962 is synonymous with the classic sports car. It was popular across class boundaries especially in the 1960s, and no wonder why. Its body was beautiful and light, and the car had excellent driving characteristics.

In October 1967 British Motor Company Launched MGC in Earls Court Motor Show. Grand Tourer Sports car and Roadster were designed to replace the Austin-Healey 3000. MGB’s monocoque structure was able to be used also with a bigger engines than the four cylinder BMC’s 1800 cc B-series.

So the big difference from MGB was under the bulging bonnet of MGC: Newly developed, massive BMC’s C-series 3 litre straight six engine with twin SU Carburetors, producing 145 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque. MGC was the most powerful MG ever made, even comparing to the later MGB GT V8 with lighter alloy Rover V8.

The big iron engine required further development of the MGB in all technical aspects of the car to match the car’s handling capabilities: including the car’s steering, brakes and suspension, and inch-bigger, 15-inch wheels.

Between 1967 and 1969 only 4 457 MGC GT’s were built together with a few more of roadsters made. Young Prince Charles was one of those who enjoyed about driving the MGC GT, and he later gave the car to his son William.

This ‘1967 MGC GT with original automatic gearbox has been sold as new to Sacramento, California, United States. Later it has been imported to Germany. In Finland the MGC GT was imported in 1999 by MG enthusiast I. Arvio. Car was in highly original condition, but in need of restoration. In 2005 I. Arvio sold the car to E.Rintala from Ylivieska, Finland.

During Rintala’s ownership the car has been completely restored:

The car was totally dismantled to the parts. The body has been blasted, refurbished and painted in the original British Racing Green shade, all the inside, outside and underneath. The restoration has been made to high standards and the car looks stunning also underneath, including all the sandblasted and repainted axles and leafsprings and other refurbished or renewed steering and suspension parts. The engine has been rebuilt with new original parts including new piston rings, bearings, waterpump. Only 59 000 miles driven engine is still in its original standard size. The car’s electricities have been refurbished and all the brakes and exhaust renewed.

Original, 15 inch wire wheels have been refurbished and installed with new tires.

The interior has been re-upholstered with original shades and shapes of genuine brown leather. Roof upholstery is renewed. Dashboard, gauges and radio have been refurbished. The original steering wheel is untouched and in original condition.

The car’s original SU carburetors have been refurbished and adjusted and the car is running and and everything is working great. The Borg-Warner automatic works perfectly. Really smooth and proper Grand Tourer to drive!

The restoration was finished and car was registered as a historic vehicle in December 2019.

Fresh Mot/Tüv inspection is done in 06/2022 and valid until 2026.

In early 50’s Sir John Black, who worked as a chairman of Standard-Triumph, decided that the Triumph would need a proper open sports car to compete with Morgan that Triumph was tried to buy. Sir Black gave a tight budget for Triumph and Triumph used existing chassis, suspension and inexpensive bodywork to built the first concept car of TR series Triumph. Target was to reach at least 90 mph top speed.

Triumph TR1 (20TS) was introduced in London Motorshow in 1952. As a result the 20 TS deservedly garnered praise about the design of front of the car and potentiality to be fast sports car. The interior of the car and the design of the rear, on the other hand, require a lot of development work. Triumph hired the British Racing Motors test driver Ken Richardson to test drive and develop the car further. The beginning of one of Great Britain’s greatest sports car stories was born.

The TR2 was introduced in 1953 Geneva Motorshown and followed by TR3 in 1955 and TR3A with new 2.2 litre four cylinder engine and disc brakes in 1957. In 1961 totally new designed TR4 by Giovanni Michelotti was introduced and 1965 it was upgraded with independent rear suspension.

In 1967 the TR -series got one of its greatest improvements when it finally got the 2.5 liter inline six engine. TR4 bodied car was offered for US market with two Stromberg carburettors and for other markets there was available TR5 with Lucas fuel injection. Again the next model was developed further based on the earlier ones. In 1968 Karmann redesigned the front end and rear end of the Michelotti’s TR body and the last model based to the very first TR-series, Triumph TR6 was born.

This particular car represents the first half of the TR series and is a 1959 Triumph TR3A. The car was brought to Finland in 2010 by Oskari Åvall of Grips Garage, which specializes in British classics. The car came to Finland from Minnesota, USA. The Triumph has been thoroughly restored in the US, including the car’s engine, body, chassis, and renewed interior and soft top including removable side windows. The restoration has been done to a high standard and the car is still very neat and clean, functional and intact, including the extremely clean chassis and engine bay.

Åvall sold the car in 2011 to T. Hoikkala, who still owns the car. The car has been enjoyed occasionally  summer times and has been stored in a warm garage.

Major maintenance has been done in October-November 2022, where carburetors were comprehensively refurbished and fuel lines and air filters with housings were renewed. The cylinder pressures have also been measured and they are very good. Coolants and engine oils with filter also renewed.

The car’s 100-horsepower engine is really perky and the gearbox works precisely without any additional noices.

The body of the car and the Primerose yellow paint are in really good and impressive condition. The brown interior is very clean and intact, and the soft top roof with removable side windows is really presentative and intact.

The car is registered as a historic vehicle and Mot/Tüv inspected in November 2022. Triumph’s  Mot/Tüv inspection is valid until 11/2026 and the car is ready to be enjoyed.

The car is located in Vantaa, 25 minutes from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Views by appointment.

The Porsche 911 was introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1963. The car was a natural continuation of the Porsche 356, which originated in the village of Gmünd in Austria, and whose production had moved to Stuttgart, Germany, after the Second World War.

While the 356 borrowed many parts and the four-cylinder boxer powertrain was developed from the VW Typ 1 engine block, the Porsche 911 was powered by a rear-mounted, air-cooled 6-cylinder boxer engine. The sporty and round shapes with round headlights followed the design language familiar from the Volkswagen Typ 1 and still from the Porsche 356.

The air-cooled car was not only light, but also simple to maintain and tune. Thanks to its simple technology, it was also suitable for everyday driving and was easy and effortless to drive.

From the beginning, the Porsche 911 was designed as a sports car and racing car. In the mid-1970s, different variations of the 911 were successful in both the Targa Florio and the Daytona 24 Hours. Brand championships for Porsche came with the 935 developed from the 911 in the 24 hours of Le Mans no less than in four consecutive years from 1976 to 1979.

The wheelbase of the original 911 was already extended in 1969 to enable better handling. In 1974, the 911 G series was introduced which was clearly more modern and safer with its plastic bumpers. In connection with the G series, 911 engines were available for the first time with electronic fuel injection and turbocharged versions.

In 1989, on the eve of the recession, Porsche introduced the first completely new 911 generation, the 964. The car’s features were borrowed from Porsche’s supercar, the 959, and the new 964 was presented as a four-wheel drive Carrera 4 model. Although at that time the continuation of the entire 911 generation was uncertain in Porsche’s eyes, it was precisely in the 964 generation that airbags and an automatic transmission were introduced, features that made it once again more safe and easy everyday sports car for many buyers.

The car model, which will soon turn 60 years old, has already progressed to its seventh generation. The car for sale represents the swan song of the Porsche 911 series realized with the original philosophy, the fourth generation of the 911 series and the last of the air-cooled 911s.

The Porsche 993 was introduced in 1994 and was further developed from the 964. In the design, particular attention was paid to aerodynamics, and the design of both front and back of the car had been streamlined with minor changes. A solution to the typical problem of the 911, the tendency to oversteering in middle corners, was found by implementing a new multi-link suspension for the rear axle. As usual, the Carrera’s engine was a six-cylinder Boxer, which produced a peak power of 200 kilowatts with a displacement of 3.6 liters.

This Porsche 993 Carrera 2 in question was sold new from the Porsche Zentrum Berlin dealer and was first registered on June 16, 1994. In 2003, the car was brought to Sweden and again in 2018 to Finland. All the car’s original documents, including the complete service book, are kept neatly in the original leather folder. The car has been serviced since new in official Porsche services and services specializing in Porsches. Most recently, in addition to periodic maintenance, the immobilizer unit and starter motor have been renewed.

The car is repainted with Porsche’s Arctic Silver paintwork and it is in impressive condition. The black leather upholstery is tidy. The car is completed by Porsche’s original modern retro audio player. The car has Pirelli Pzero tires in good condition with original 18-inch Turbo Twist rims.

The car’s engine works wonderfully and the gearbox precisely. Inspected 10/2022. A real pleasure to drive, this is a Porsche 911 ready to enjoy.

The car is located in Vantaa, 30 minutes from Helsinki-Vantaa airport.

After the Range Rover introduced in 1970, the next new Land Rover model was waited for no less than 19 years. In 1989, Land Rover presented the all-new Discovery at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The car designed under the code name Project Jay was designed especially for buyers who dream of a spacious family car with off-road capabilities. In 20 years, the Range Rover had taken its place as a luxury SUV, but the Discovery’s purpose was to challenge the competitive middle class of SUVs and Japanese challengers such as Toyota Land Cruiser and Mitsubishi Pajero. Land Rover succeeded in its goal and the futuristic Discovery became a classic from the moment it was born.

The recipe for an off-road capable family car borrowed ingredients from the Range Rover: Separate chassis, permanent four-wheel drive and transfer gearbox with central differential lock. In the design of the Discovery, special attention was paid to the practical interior spaces, which were designed by the external design agency Conrad Design. Parts of the body, such as the door frames, were also borrowed from the Range Rover, and the rear part of the car’s body was extended to allow for a larger trunk.

Land Rover also relied on power with the Discovery, and you could choose either a turbodiesel or Rover’s V8 as the engine. The two-liter four-cylinder Rover engine was also in the selections for certain markets. At first, the fuel for the V8 was dosed by double carburettors, later by electrically controlled injectors from Lucas and Gems. The engine displacement increased during the facelift in 1994 from 3.5 liters to 4 liters and the 200tdi turbodiesel was updated to the 300tdi, and for the first time a diesel automatic Land Rover became available.

When the choice fell on the V8, there was no need to compromise on comfort or performance in an off-road capable family car. This Land Rover Discovery in question represents the last models of the first generation and is equipped with a “Soft Dash” dashboard, a 4.0 liter Rover V8 and an automatic transmission. The car’s equipment also includes ABS brakes, airbags and two additional seats in the trunk. The festive equipment also includes light full leather upholstery, panorama- and alpine windows and original sidesteps.

The car was first registered on February 4, 1997 and imported as a expat -vehicle and registered in Finland in 2007.

During the years 2021-2023, the car has been thoroughly restored: The body and frame of the car have been restored and the body has been painted in the original shade of white. The body’s protection moldings have been completely renewed, as have the headlight covers. The car’s brakes and tires have been renewed. The rims have been restored.

The seats has been completely reupholstered in light leather. A modern sound reproduction system is installed in connection with the upholstery. The sound insulation of the car has also been improved and doorcards and dashboard refurbished.

The engine has been opened, and seals, hoses and ignition parts have all been renewed. During spring 2023  hydraulic valve lifters, camshaft, camchain, connecting rod bearings, oil pump gears and water pump were renewed. The car’s engine runs smooth and beautifully and works perfectly.

The car is absolutely stunning. The engine and gearbox work great and the car really is both perky and comfort to drive. Discovery has been Mot/Tüv inspected in October 2022 and is ready to discover new adventures.

The car is located in Vantaa, 30 minutes from Helsinki-Vantaa airport.

In March 1961, Jaguar presented a sports car at the Geneva Motor Show, which changed the automotive world forever. The new E-Type (XK-E in the US) was based on the Jaguar D-Type racing car that had won Le Mans three years consecutively from 1955 to 1957. The advanced sports car grand tourer was built on a monocoque body and an engine subframe, thanks to which it only weighed a little over 1300 kilograms. The modern sports car was equipped with disc brakes and independent front and rear suspension. Designed for street use, the Jaguar E-type was the successor to the Jaguar XK 150, whose racing car version, the C-Type, was also succeed at Le Mans.

The car became an immediate success and the annual production was filled with order books in no time. Enzo Ferrari titled the E-Type the most beautiful car in the world and the car was produced for three model series until 1974.

The E-Type Series 3 was introduced in 1971. Both the body and the engine were totally new. The short wheelbase Fixed Head Coupe was dropped and the E-Type was now available only as a Open Two Seater and 2+2 Coupe. The S3 E-Type is identified from the other E-Types with the large cross-slatted front grille, extended wheelarches and wheels with low-profile tyres. Even when new body was bigger to almost every directions, the car weight was only 39 kg’s more than six-cylinder engine E-Types.

Third series E-type was equipped with uprated brakes and the power steering was now a standard equipment. An automatic transmission, air conditioning and wire wheels were available as a new options.

The third Series E-Type was delivered with smoothness and sophistication with new 5.3 litre Jaguar V12 with four Zenith carburettors that was often chosen together with automatic transmission. More than road racer, the E-Type was now luxury grand tourer that was available to do the 0-60 mph with less than seven seconds.

This particular car is an excellent specimen with the original V12 engine and Tremec 5-speed manual transmission. The combination is both sporty and extraordinary comfortable. This car was already equipped with air conditioning and chrome wire wheels from the factory.

The car is rust-free, came to Finland from Arizona and is still a Matching Numbers car except for the gearbox. The 1973 E-Type was sold in 2000 at the Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. The new owner of the car was Finnish, who brought the car to Finland and kept it until 2016. The current owner is the second owner during the car’s history in Finland.

The car had only driven 48,000 miles when it came to Finland, and even after more than two decades, only 72,000 miles have been driven on it. The car’s maintenance history is stored from both the time of the United States and Finland. The E-type is in very presentative condition both in terms of its repainted Silver Grey body and its Connolly leather reupholstered interior. The car has been serviced and repaired in Finland in workshops specializing in British classics. Over the past few years, in addition to periodic maintenances, the car’s engine water hoses, several seals and the car’s wheel bearings have been renewed, among other things. In Finland, a Tremec 5-speed with a new clutch package has been installed in the car.

Very beautiful example of SIII E-type Roadster. Registered as a historic vehicle and ready to drive with fresh Mot/Tüv inspection valid until 2026.

The car is located in Vantaa, Finland, 30 minutes from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.

Mercedes introduced the W123 model as a four-door sedan in 1976 at the Geneva Motor Show. The following year, at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz made history: The brand presented its first station wagon model, the W123 T model. The name came from the words Tourism und Transport.

Compared to the W123’s predecessor, the W114 series, the W123 was progressive, with Mercedes introducing a long list of new features to family car class during W123 production years 1976–1984, from the modern diesel engines and four speed automatic gearboxes to estate models self-levelling rear suspension, turbochargers and airbags.

The brightest top models of the Mercedes’s large family car were equipped with a big, new 5-cylinder diesel engine and an automatic transmission, such as this one from Stuttgart. The engine became a legend, which is still considered an incomparable mileage sinker thanks to its reliability.

This 1979 300TD Kombi was brought to Finland in 1987. The car has been taken very good care of and its body has been restored and repainted in the original pastel green shade. The interior is confusingly tidy, intact and original. There are original additional seats in the trunk, the car is an original 7-seater.

The engine and gearbox work together seamlessly, as the German engineer has it planned. The control devices work precisely and the doors and hatches close like in a bank vault, including the manually operated sunroof.

The car is registered as a historic vehicle and the inspection is valid until the end of June 2025.

A great classic for the whole family, ready to drive and enjoy.

Led by Sir William Lyons, a revolutionary car was born in Coventry, UK in the late 1950s: the Jaguar MKII. The car was advanced, with a unibody and disc brakes. Particular attention had been paid to the car’s silence, vibration damping and a comfortable but sporty suspension. As the Jaguars motto, launched first time with MKII said: “Grace, Space, Pace”.

The end result was a luxurious and sporty large mid-size sedan. A representative car the kind of bank robbers stole as an escape car. And a capable four-door sport saloon that succeeded also as a racing car the kind that German competitors like BMW and Mercedes could only dream of at the time.

This 1960 Burgundy Red Jaguar MKII was imported to Finland from the United States in the early 1990s. In 2018, the car moved from J. Holopainen’s collection to Grips Garage, specialized in British classic cars. The car is owned by A.Åvall of Grips Garage.

The car has been refurbished and serviced in repair shops specializing in Jaguars over the years, and it is in good condition both in terms of bodywork and technology. In autumn 2022, the fuel pump and fuel filters have been renewed and wheel bearings were serviced.

The car body looks good also underneath and the Burgundy Red paintwork has aged beautifully. The aristocratic style is completed by wire wheels and recently renewed white-sided tires.

The light artificial leather upholstery in the interior is in good condition, as well as the burgundy red mats and roof upholstery.

The car’s original 3.8 liter straight engine purrs softly. The automatic transmission works conscientiously and the car is festive to drive.

The car is registered as a museum vehicle and the next inspection is in July 2026. This Jag is a beautiful specimen ready to be enjoyed.

For the 1986 Range Rover Vogue models, Land Rover introduced electronic fuel injection. Together with the automatic transmission, it took the luxury of the royal 4×4 one step further, again.

Range Rover 3.5 Efi Vogue Aut ‘1988. Extensively restored and refurbished during 2021 and 2022.

My dad originally sold this ‘1988 Chamonix White Range Rover as new on the 4 th of March 1988 when he was working for Autorep, the official Land Rover dealer in Finland in 1980’s and 1990’s. The first owner was M.Sajaniemi in Espoo, Finland who kept the car for three years. In 1991 M.Sajaniemi sold it to his neighbour J.Tuovinen. He took exemplary care of the car until autumn 2021, when we bought the car from him.

Over the years, the car has been exemplarily serviced. Service history is documented in the original service book. The original instruction manuals are also retained.

During 2021 and 2022, the car has been comprehensively refurbished and restored. The car body was remained in very good condition and typical areas, such as sills have now been refurbished. The whole car is painted in the original Chamonix White color. Wheels have been refurbished and powdercoated with dark Gun Metal Gray shades. Original side mouldings also available.

Interior is in impressive and very good original condition.

Engine waterpump and ignition parts have been renewed and all oils and liquids including filters (coolant and brake liquids, engine,- transmission-, transferbox-, and differential oils) have all been changed.

The car’s engine runs smoothly and the transmission works perfectly. The car is a pleasure to drive. Fresh MOT/Tüv Inspected in 10/2022.
