The brothers James and William Packard founded a car factory in Ohio in 1899. Also in Ohio, a few years earlier, an advanced passenger car powered by a combustion engine was born, when Alexander Winton, a Scot specializing in the manufacture of bicycles, had developed his own horseless vehicle. James Packard bought one of Winton’s vehicles and started developing his own passenger car. Packard succeeded, and little by little the Ohio automaker became one of the most prominent manufacturers of American luxury passenger cars before World War II.

From 1942 until the end of World War II, Packard focused on producing the vehicle industry for wartime needs, engines for both fighters and naval ships. In 1945, at the end of World War II, Packard was in excellent financial shape. However, the company’s good financial condition was due to the state’s military industry rather than passenger cars sold to private customers. At the end of the 1930s, Packard also introduced six-cylinder middle-class cars aimed at the general public. At the same time, Cadillac had entered the luxury car market, which offered more modern-looking comfort than Packard. In the market, Lincoln and Kaiser Frazer also fought for buyers of luxury American cars.

In 1946, Packard produced about 10 thousand cars, which was roughly half of the pre-war annual production. They wanted to stick to high quality, which limited the production quantities, and labor disputes did not make the situation any easier. Above all, the need was to design and bring new models to the market that would deserve the front decoration of the finest American luxury car.

The years 1947-1948 were a turning point for Packard: the trendy “Bathtube”, a new round design trend for luxury cars, which was pioneered by Nash and Kaiser Frazer. Packard responded to market demand with numerous 8-cylinder new models such as Standard and Deluxe. At the top of the range was the Custom Eight, which was even available as a seven-seater limousine. Packard managed to earn its bow, even President Truman traveled ostentatiously in a Custom Eight Victoria convertible. Since then, Custom Eight has starred in films such as Back to the Future and Gangster Squad.

For the first time, Packard had introduced the Custom Eight model series back in 1928, so now it was the second generation. The most luxurious model in the collection was equipped with a 356 cubic inch / 5.8 liter inline eight engine and a wheelbase of up to 127 inches. Apart from its large size, the Custom Eight was distinguished from its smaller siblings by its egg crate chrome grill.

This Packard Custom Eight Sedan was first registered in the United States in December 1948. The car has been preserved in excellent original condition. The original sand gray shade is said to have been repainted in the 1960s. The car was brought to Finland in 2012 from Worley, Florida, where its last owners were Jerry & Hazel Nebel. The car was bought from US to Finland by its current owner, A. Erämaa.

The car has had a thorough engine overhaul done in Finland. The overdrive has also been refurbished and an ac alternator. The skirts of the body have been restored, but mostly the body of the car has remained in excellent original condition.

The Packard has been regularly serviced and well taken care of. The Packard runs and drives really refined and the power transmission works precisely. Gorgeus car, “Ask the man who owns one.”

Registered as a historic vehicle. The car has been inspected 05/2020, valid until 05/2024. Packard is located in Vantaa, Finland – 30 minutes from Helsinki–Vantaa Airport.  Views by appointment.

In 1948, at the Earls Court Motor Show in London, Jaguar presented the world’s fastest production car. The Jaguar XK 120, introduced as an open two seater, reached, as its name suggests, an unprecedented speed of 120 miles (193 kilometers) per hour.

The body of the car was designed by director and founder of Jaguar, Sir William Lyons himself. The shapes of the beautiful sports car body were praised and adored in the competition. The original shapes of the prototype car, frame number 660001, were largely preserved until production cars, but the body material soon changed from aluminum to steel. The first production car, the XK 120 with chassis number 670003, was delivered to Hollywood actor Clark Gable.

It wasn’t just a new car model, but the role of the XK 120 was much bigger. It served as a test bed for new XK engine, designed by Jaguar’s chief engineer William Heynes. The revolutionary inline six engine was equipped with two overhead camshafts, aluminium-alloy cylinder head and seven main bearings, producing a maximum output of 160 horsepower. The XK engine became one of the most prestigious six-cylinder engines of all time, which Jaguar used with various versions until the 1990s.

Already before the end of the Second World War, Jaguar knew how to design and make sports cars. Before the XK the latest sports car in production was the SS100. It was name came by Swallow Sidecar, the company that preceded Jaguar. 100 was named after the car’s power. SS100 was also successful in motor sports, both on gravel and on the track. The new XK 120 was no exception to Jaguar’s motorsport success and it not only broke speed records, but was also successful in Le Mans, Targa Florio, Mille Miglia and also in Monte Carlo rallies. Leslie Johnson, Clemente Biondetti, Ian Appleyard, Tommy Wisdom and Sir Stirling Moss, just to name a few motorsport legends who have raced with XK 120 Jaguars. In Finland SPJ Keinänen won Eläintarhan ajot – race with XK120 in 1951.

The motorsport success of the XK 120 signaled Jaguar’s direction far into the future and encouraged Lyons and Heynes to invest not only for the development of sports cars, but also in motorsport. The XK series was continued and in 1954 the bigger XK 140 was introduced. In 1957 was introduced XK 150 that was also available as a four-seater coupe. The last version of the XK was not only more spacious, but also more modern. Significant external changes included a one-piece windshield and a wider hood. In 1960, the engine displacement increased to 3.8 liters.

This XK 150 Drop Head Coupe in question was manufactured in Coventry on 21/04/1960 and sold as new to USA. The last owner in California was Carolyne Baker. To Finland, Jaguar was imported by Pertti Nieminen, aka Neumann, the frontman of the Finnish rock band Dingo. The car was brought from California to Pori, Finland in 1988. From the bankruptcy estate of Neumann’s company, the car was transferred to Oy Maniklan AB, where the restoration of the Jaguar began. The body was restored and interior was renewed and upholstered with cream beige leather.

The car was registered to Finland and sold on May 23, 1993 at Bukowski’s auction to car collector C.Palmberg. The restoration of the Jaguar continued at Woikoski Oy’s workshop in Palmberg.

In 2006, Palmberg sold the car to the current owner, J. Kuisma, who continued to restore the Jaguar. The original matching numbers engine was thoroughly overhauled in 2007. The following year, the body was repainted in British Racing Green and the fuel tank was renewed. During the years 2010-2012, the Jaguar underwent, among other things, a thorough brake overhaul, where the calipers, brake cylinders and brake pipes were renewed. In 2015, the clutch slave cylinder was renewed and an electric ignition was installed. The tires have been renewed in 2019.

The XK 150 has been driven 500-1000 kilometers annually with regularly serviced.

The car is registered as a historic vehicle, it is Mot/Tüv inspected and ready to enjoy.

Fully restored in the 2010s including engine, frame, saddles and fairings. Photo documents about the restoration available.
History and registration documents since the 1950s, even the original registration certificate!
6900 €

Born in Piscaia, Tuscany in 1891, Ferdinandi Innocenti started his business career by establishing a hardware store in Rome. The business grew, and in 1920 Ferdinandi established a factory in northern Italy in Milan, in the Lambrate district. The factory produced everything from soccer stands to railways, and the reconstruction boom in Rome in particular boosted demand.

The factories suffered in the Second World War, but Innocenti had kept them up and running productively for wartime needs even through difficult times. After the war, the factories also started producing for the vehicle industry, inspired by military motorcycles. Enrico Piaggio had introduced the Vespa in 1946, and Innocenti introduced their first scooter, Lambro River by  Lambretta, just a year later. The scooters became a huge success and were manufactured under license in Spain, India, Argentina, Germany, France and Brazil.

In 1950, Lambretta introduced the Model C – the first scooter aimed specifically at export to Great Britain, where Lambretta scooters had become popular. The C was advanced compared to earlier scooters, the engine was still air-cooled, Lambretta’s tried and tested 125cc, but now it was bolted as part of a single tube frame to the back of the scooter. The fuel tank was placed below the seat. The redesigned rear suspension also better takes into account the load of the driver and the engine. The front shock absorber had two tubes on both sides of the bike, which made the ride softer than the competitor Vespa. There were three gears, which were controlled from the handlebar with a Teleflex cable. The Dell’Orto’s MA 16 carburettor dispensed fuel to the engine that produced about 4.3 horsepower.

At the end of year 1950, a more advanced version of the C, the LC, was introduced. L came from the word Lusso, meaning luxury. Special attention was paid to driving in wet conditions – larger fairings protected the driver better and now there was also a running board for the rear passenger. There was a small hatch in the roof for using the fuel tap and refueling. The most significant change to the engine was the fan, which made it possible to idle the bike in traffic more reliably than before.

Model C and LC were only produced for less than two years, but in that time as many as 130 thousand scooters were produced, the majority of which were still sold to the domestic market in Italy. About a third of these were LCs, totally 42,500 scooters.

This Innocenti LC 125 in question was first registered in Italy in February 1951 in the province of Reggio Emilia in northern Italy. The original registration certificate booklet is still preserved. The Lambretta has been used until 1988, when it was removed from the Italian registry. The bike still has its original and only registration plate 7519 RE.

The scooter was brought to Finland by T. Vilagi in 2021. The bike had been kept in the Reggio Emilia area since new, where it was thoroughly restored in the 2010s. There are photo documents available about the restoration. The restoration has included a thorough restoration of the engine, frame and fairings. The roofs and body have been finished in the original olive green shade, and the seat covers and rubber parts have been renewed. The end result is really impressive. The Lambretta has last been used for occasional drives in the summer of 2021, after which it has been storage and enjoyed indoors in showroom on racks specially made for it in Naples.

The sale includes a photo piece featuring Miss Lambretta 1951, Liliana Spagno with the Lambretta LC 125 scooter.

Lambretta is located in Vantaa, 25 minutes from Helsinki-Vantaa airport.

In 1971, Mercedes introduced the successor to the legendary Pagoda, the sporty hardtop-roadster of the Mercedes W113 series. Almost 50 thousand units of the Pagoda had been sold, so the model series was continued for a reason.

The new open model that started production in April 1971 was named SL. The four-seater coupé replacing the W111 model with a hard roof that followed in October was based directly on the open version. Compared to the convertible, the wheelbase was up to 36 centimeters longer and the coupé was named SLC. In the case of the Pagoda, SL or super leicht had referred to a light sports car, but the new generation was developed in parallel with the new S-series and, despite its sleek design, was especially intended for pleasant highway speeds rather than only sporty driving.

The chassis structure of the new sports models was borrowed from the W114 series middle-class sedan, to which the M116 and M117 series V8 engines were adapted. Three-speed and, later in the 1980s, four-speed automatic transmissions were offered as options. Some models were also available with a 4- and later 5-speed manual transmission.

The W107 generation models became a success and sold well, especially in the United States. With the exception of the Mercedes G-series, the 107 generation became the generation that was continuously in production for the longest time, the convertible model was made from the beginning of the 1970s until the end of the 1980s. Production of the Coupe model ended much earlier, in 1981.

This car in question is a May 1982 first registered Mercedes SL 380 V8 with automatic transmission. The car was sold as new from Auto Stiegler LTD in California. The car was imported and registered in Finland in 2010 and was with the same owner in Lahti until May 2022.

The blue soft top roof has been renewed and is clean and intact. The car’s blue leather upholstery is also in really neat condition and the wood trim is intact. The car is still in a tidy and impressive condition, despite minor patina in the paint. It has been taken good care of and enjoyed regularly in the summer times.

The Mercedes was serviced in the summer of 2023, when the car’s engine oil and filter were changed. The fuel injection system was also serviced and adjusted.

The car is registered as a historic vehicle and the Mot/Tüv inspection is valid until September 2026.

The car is located in Salo, Finland – 1 hour from Helsinki–Vantaa Airport. Views by appointment.

In the 1930s, the Swedes unsuccessfully tried to acquire fighters for the needs of the defense forces from England, France and the United States. The country, which remained neutral, decided to establish an airplane factory, and in the footsteps of the first company, Svenska Aero AB, Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget, better known as SAAB, was also born. As a result of the First World War, the Germans had been forced to move their aircraft factories to other countries, such as Sweden. So were the German engineering skills also used at Saab.

The first passenger car of Saab, the Saab 92, began to be produced in 1949. The philosophy of aircraft design was utilized and thanks to the streamlined design, the car had a drag coefficient of 0.30, the same as, for example, the Ferrari F40 sports car a few decades later.

Saab initially had a two-stroke and liquid-cooled engine borrowed from the German DKW. Even when it had only 25 horsepower, the streamlined small family car reached a top speed of over one hundred kilometers.

Saab’s design, which proved to be successful both in road traffic and in rallies, was continued in 1955 with the introduction of the 93 and again in 1959 with the station wagon model. In 1960, the more advanced Saab 96 was introduced.

Saab was advanced for the 1960s with front-wheel drive, but equipped with old fashioned gears with the lever mounted in steering column and including three- and four-speed with free clutches. Saab was popular in the Nordic countries, the large wheel size and front-wheel drive made it an efficient forwarder even in challenging conditions. Rally success was achieved with a Saab 96 in Sweden by Stig Blomqvist and Erik Carlsson and in Finland by Simo Lampinen.

In the mid-1960s, the two-stroke engine started to feel old-fashioned and Saab was looking for new engine solutions. In 1965, the Saab 96 underwent a complete facelift, which also made room for a larger engine. A couple of years later, Saab got Ford’s V4 engine and advanced front disc brakes. From the turn of the 1960s to the turn of the 1970s, the car was also manufactured in Finland at the Uusikaupunki car factory, and the car underwent constant improvements and modern features and equipment.

This ‘1973 Saab 96 was sold as new to Professor Leo Aario in Tapiola on February 28, 1973. Even the original Scan car purchase receipt have been preserved, the car cost FIM 17,888 and 65 pennies with accessories. Additional equipment included, among other things, inner fenders and a locking fuel tank cap. The car was ordered in period colors with dark green fabric / leatherette upholstery and with Brilliant Gul yellow exterior color that was available only in 1973.

Due to the aging of the owner, the car was driven very little and was mostly parked in the garage. The owner passed away and in 2009 the car was bought from the first owner family by a Saab enthusiast from Vaasa. The current owner, K. Eloranta, bought the car in 2017, when the car had only been driven 28,000 kilometers since new!

From 1973 until today, Saab has been preserved in completely original condition. During the current owner’s time, the car has been serviced, its ignition parts, fuel lines and fuel tank have been renewed and small parking dents on the body have been repaired. The car’s paint and upholstery are original and in excellent condition.

All of the Saab’s equipment works and its engine and transmission work perfectly. The car really feels like a special time capsule.

Saab was inspected in June 2023. Next inspection 06/2025.

In the 1990s and early 2000s, legendary cars such as the Aston Martin DB7 and the DB9 as well as the Le Mans racer Nissan R390 were born from the pen of Jaguar’s chief designer Ian Callum. In 2005, the second-generation Jaguar XK was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the design of which utilized the marks history with the E-type, for example in terms of the sayer nose.

Two years later, the more powerful XKR with a Supercharged V8 followed. The mechanically supercharged V8 produced 420 horsepower and reached 100 kilometres per hour in 5.2 seconds. The transmission was a ZF 6-speed automatic, which could also be controlled with steering wheel paddles. The changes in the design of the body were restrained, mainly the more aggressively shaped front bumper, the air intakes in the bonnet and the four outlets of the exhaust spoke of the increased power resources.

This 2007 XKR in question was sold on May 29, 2007 from the official Jaguar dealer in Florence. The car came to Finland from Luxembourg in 2015. The car has been regularly serviced at Jaguar specialized services since new, and the original service book and user manuals as well as many of service receipts kept. The last scheduled service was performed at 135,000 km / 2022, when the engine and transmission oils and filters were changed.

The car’s equipment includes xenon headlights, mobile phone equipment, electrically adjustable seats and XKR’s original 20-inch rims with Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The car’s Liquid Silver paintwork is in excellent condition, and the black leather upholstery and wood trim are neat and tidy.

A very clean and intact specimen ready to be enjoyed.

The Austin-Healey car brand was born in 1952 as a result of the collaboration between BMC and Donald Healey. In the same year, the British Motor Company was also born because of the merger of Austin and Morris. Austin and Donald Healey wanted to offer a sports car specifically for the North American sports car market. Donald Healey had won the Monte Carlo Rally in Invicta in 1931 and made a name for himself as a designer of Triumph and Riley sports cars. After the Second World War, he had established his own car factory, where cars were produced for Tickford and Duncan, for example. So the conditions for designing a successful sports car were already there.

In 1952, the first sports car designed by Austin and Healey was presented at the London Motor Show. Donald Healey’s son Geoffrey Healey and Barrie Bilbie were especially responsible for the developing of the car. Gerry Coker helped with the design. The engine was an Austin straight four with two carburetors that pushed the sports car to a top speed of 100 mph. The car was initially named Healey Hundred, which was soon updated to Austin-Healey 100. The car was constantly developed and its power readings and driving characteristics improved.

This Austin-Healey 100 in question was manufactured in 1954 and was sold as new in the United States. The car’s title from Los Angeles, California is preserved, and the car has been owned since 1956 by Frank Andrina, who lived in Hollywood and known from the film and animation industry. In 1991 the car was bought to Finland in project condition by the current and only owner of the car in Finland, E. Kuusela.

The car’s current owner has thoroughly restored the car with classic car professionals. The body of the car was water blasted and restored by professionals. Axles, support arms and other chassis parts have been sand blasted and painted and all wearing parts of the brakes and chassis including bushings and rubbers have all been renewed. The body and chassis of the car have been painted with the Austin Healey’s metallic Light Blue and Old English White shades and the end result is really high quality.

The car’s matching numbers engine has been completely restored and rebuilt with new parts. The original block, cylinder head and crankshaft have been machined and the block piped with new liners. The engine runs and works excellently and the refurbished SU carburetors are excellently adjusted.

The interior of the car has been completely renewed with original materials and shades of blue. The gauges, switches and electricity have all been refurbished.

The original chrome bumpers and moldings have been re-chromed. The rims are new and like the original with 60 spokes with the latest Firestone classic tires.

Austin-Healey is registered as a historic vehicle and inspected in May 2023. Mot/Tüv Inspection is valid until 06/2027.

The car is located in Vihtijärvi, 50 minutes from Helsinki-Vantaa airport. Views by appointment only.
